Mae is probably the first American rock band I'm obsessed with. I saw it on a Jrock Rotation site and I assumed it was Japanese because of the name, but it so happens that they're an Indies band from Virginia. The song I got was call "Sun" in a acoustic version. The lyrics have got to be one of the best I've heard in the longest time, and the vocals and intruments mix so well together.

I'm a mess,
I guess.
It's what I've asked for, it's what I've needed.
Well, you knew me better than that, or at least you did and something happened.
But once again something's happened.
The confidence you held in us is the rope we almost hung ourselves with.
At times I wonder if we really took the steps to break right through it.
I know that there were better days, but to see the light and to feel the rays.
Life was always back and forth and we were idoling and making useless progress.

Waiting for the rain to stop.
Destination: beautiful.
Seems that I'm still waiting for the sun.
Someday will come back to us,
if you're willing let it go.
Why won't you just let this be your sun?
It seems like yesterday we had the world our way.
But some say we're headed for destruction.

I'll ask you
What in the world should we do?
The light is green our break is through.
Are we not trying or are we trying too hard?
Well, you know I never want to miss,
I hold on tight and reminisce.
But it's bittersweet to me.
When time stands still as it's trapped inside the letterbox you gave back to me.
But I'm the one who keeps on reading...reading
But I'm the one who wants to let it go.
I'm the first to speak.
You're the last to know.
Another scene that we're creating,
I need to know if we're still making useless progress.

X2
Waiting for the rain to stop.
Destination: beautiful.
Seems that I'm still waiting for the sun.
Someday will come back to us,
if you're willing let it go.
Why won't you just let this be your sun?
It seems like yesterday we had the world our way.
But some say we're headed for destruction.

Gah and the melody sticks to your head.

My god. This weekend was awesome. Saturday was spent at KinoKuniya with Dolly and we had loads of fun eating, and looking at magazines. We had to cut it short because of Sheila. Bah, her birthday was loads of fun and I got her the "Everybody Poops" book and the "Gas we Pass" book. Don't worry Sheila, it's almost at your reading level.

Sunday was a blast when I was competing in the Judo tournament in Cupurtino. I didn't place, but I kind of let the person I was against win. Because I had them in a hold, and I have one of the best holds in our dojo and I could have won if I actually held. But if you don't know what I'm talking about, don't fret it. I made friends today! Well, I talked to them before, but we actually got to know each other. One was Vince (but we dubbed him Insane azn/vzn and Kevin, because he looks like one), and the other guy was Steven, who is now Daniel. Steven placed, Carolyn placed, and Jennifer placed, but Marco, Vince, and me lost. My pool was tough though; I was up against a green and green-orange belt. Blah, I saw a lot of people cry because they lost, especially girls. I hate girls who cry. I congratulated them and laughed it off. That, my friend, is good sportsmanship. The person who beat was such a show off! When they were talking about the awards, she went "ahem" for the attention. Then! when they were asking who got the awards they were all like, "I got third, but I beat Christina so she didn't place." Was that even nessasary?! Geez, don't rub it in you ass. But I had fun, and it was great experience.
